2019 Fall Musical

Participation/Audition Information for the Fall Musical:  "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown"

Directed by Julie Seidl

Thank you for your interest in St. Joseph Catholic Academy’s fall musical of “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown.” This musical is for both MIDDLE and HIGH school students. Please note that the rehearsal and show schedules have been planned around the fall sports and cheer practices, meets, and game schedules to eliminate conflicts. We’re looking for a great turnout and hope to see YOU at auditions!

Once students have registered at the link AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE, he/she will automatically be included in the Cast or Crew and will be reserved a space to audition on Wednesday August 28th.

Auditions time: Wednesday, August 28th
SJCA Upper Campus Auditorium
2:30 p.m.

Audition (Cast & Crew) Preparation

All students need to come to the small group auditions prepared to sing the song, "You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown." Memorization isn’t necessary. Please click the following link for the audition song: Click here for the AUDITION Song.

  • Participants are asked to come to the Upper Campus Arneson Auditorium by 2:30 p.m.
  • At the auditions, students will be required to sing the audition song in a small group and then will be assigned an ensemble role.
  • Some students will be asked to return for a “Call Back” audition so the directors can hear more from them; therefore, it is suggested that each student come prepared knowing not only the audition number but familiarize themselves with other character’s songs.
  • Call Backs are used to determine leading character roles and the student will be expected to sing the number assigned to them at small group auditions as a solo.
  • Students interested in participating in CREW must be in attendance for auditions. They will not be auditioning, just interviewing with Ms. Seidl.
  • It is an expectation if you are cast as a Lead Character that you will have absolutely no conflicts during the rehearsals and shows scheduled. All Lead Characters and Ensemble members will need to have their music and dialogue memorized no later than the third rehearsal.

Scripts/Show Music

  • Performers will receive their script at auditions.

  • Attendance is mandatory and will be taken every day.
  • Absences will only be excused with an email from a parent.
  • Three unexcused (no emails) will result in removal from the program. Please direct any questions to director Julie Seidl at

Rehearsals/Show Expectations:

  • Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled on Tuesdays from 5:30 - 8 p.m. and Sundays from 1 - 8 p.m.
  • Report to door #13 of St. Joe’s (Stage Door) entrance and/or come directly into the theater.
  • Rehearsals will end at the scheduled time. Please arrange to be picked up at the Stage Door at that time.
  • Parents are welcome to stay and observe rehearsal from the rear of the theater as long as they don’t interfere with the learning process.
  • The only time they will not be allowed is on the final dress rehearsal days.
  • Those are closed rehearsals to the public.
  • There is no food or drink allowed in the theater so please come with your own water bottle. Students may snack outside the theater only.

  • SJCA will be collecting a $150.00 per student (non-refundable) production fee.
  • In addition, we may ask you to purchase minimal items for your child’s costume such as specific undergarments or shoes. Fees are due by time of audition.
