Scholarships

At St. Joseph Catholic Academy, we believe that every student has the potential to achieve great things. We are proud to offer scholarships and opportunities to help our elementary through high school students reach their full potential. With the support of our generous donors and supporters, we are able to provide financial aid to families who need it most. Applications for the 2024-2025 school year will open January 2024.

Theresa Crewe Scholarship

The committee will award one $1,000 scholarship - to a rising freshman, sophomore, junior or senior. The award will be applied directly to their tuition. The recipient is eligible to reapply and be considered again for the scholarship in subsequent years.

Terence P. Riley Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded annually to six deserving students:

4 High School Students (@ $1,000 per student)
2 Middle School Students (@ $500 per student)
Students must be registered for the 2024-2025 school year. The money will be applied towards the winner’s high school tuition at St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

I.F. Stocker Scholarship

This scholarship of $500 will be awarded annually to three deserving student who are registered for the 2024-2025 school year for 9th-12th grade. The money will be applied towards the winner’s high school tuition at St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

Joseph and Kathy Madrigrano Scholarship

This scholarship of $2,500 will be awarded annually to a deserving student who is registered for the 2024-2025 school year for 9th-12th grade. The money will be applied towards the winner’s high school tuition at St. Joseph Catholic Academy. The student must come from a single parent household.

John and Sadie Bain Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded annually to 16 deserving students:

4 Freshmen
4 sophomores
4 juniors
4 seniors
Students must be registered for the 2024-2025 school year for 9th-12th grade.

Jack and Louise (Covelli) Bucko Memorial Scholarship

The Jack and Louise (Covelli) Bucko Memorial Scholarship will award $500 to two registered High School Students. The money will be applied towards the winner’s high school tuition at St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

St. Mark Parish Scholarship

St. Mark Parish recognizes the value of a Catholic education and wishes to extend five annual scholarships totaling $5,000 for deserving students from the Parish to attend St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

Monsignor Ralph J. Altstadt Scholarship

This scholarship of $500 will be awarded annually to three deserving student who are registered for the 2024-2025 school year for 9th-12th grade. The money will be applied towards the winner’s high school tuition at St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

Shirley Madrigrano Scholarship

This scholarship of $500 will be awarded annually to a deserving student who is registered for the 2024-2025 school year for 9th-12th grade. The money will be applied towards the winner’s high school tuition at St. Joseph Catholic Academy. The student must come from a single-parent household.

Lincoln Scholarship

This scholarship of $500 will be awarded annually to a deserving student who is registered for the 2024-2025 school year for 9th-12th grade. The student must come from a single-parent household.

Frank M. & Kathryn M. Bydalek Scholarship

This scholarship of $500 will be awarded annually to a deserving student who is registered for the 2024-2025 school year for 9th-12th grade. The money will be applied towards the winner’s high school tuition at St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

Kozak Orthodontics Scholarship

Dr. Kozak’s interest and commitment to education sparked the idea for this essay contest as a way to encourage literacy among area youth. He appreciates a love of reading, writing and critical thinking. He is very proud to be a part of the SJCA family. Scholarship money will be applied to the winner’s tuition. This scholarship is for 8th grade graduating students who will be registered to attend SJCA for their freshman year. The Kozak Orthodontics Scholarship will award (2) $500 scholarships.

Holy Rosary Tuition Assistance

Tuition Assistance aid is awarded to parish catholic school and/or religious education students at all grade levels and is decided based on financial need and availability of funds. FACTS is the 3rd party organization that analyzes each financial application. The factors used to determine aid are household income, assets, family size, expenses, and private or religious education expenses. The family must be a member of Holy Rosary Parish.

The Jesse Kolmos Memorial Scholarship

The Jesse Kolmos Memorial Scholarship is given to a current SJCA boy entering his Junior year and involved in the SJCA baseball program. Jesse, the father of two children, Robert (’61) and Denise (’73), was a lifelong Kenosha resident and business owner. Jesse was a strong believer in the value of a Catholic education and serving his community. He loved baseball at all levels and was part of an ownership group that brought the Kenosha Twins, a minor league affiliate of the Minnesota Twins to Kenosha in the 1980’s.

The (2) recipients will receive $7,000 each and the award will be credited to the recipients 24-25 tuition invoice. If the recipient is a junior, the award will be renewed for their senior year.

Bristol Oaks Scholarship

The Bristol Oaks Golf Club and Banquet Hall Scholarship was established to recognize a student with strong academics and a commitment to community service. The Scholarship will award one $1,000 Scholarship for the 2022-2023 school year to be applied toward the winner’s tuition.

Holy Rosary Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize two students who have demonstrated strong Christian values, academic performance, church, and community service participation befitting a Catholic school student. The scholarships will be awarded each fall term and applied to the tuition of the awarded student.

Michael Naidicz Scholarship

The Michael J. Naidicz Foundation, Ltd, was created to support continued Catholic education at St. Joseph Catholic Academy and to provide scholarships to worthy students. Each year the foundation will award one to three scholarships to incoming 9th grade students. The scholarship(s) awarded by the Foundation is for one year, renewable for three additional years while the recipient attends the high school program at St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

Navy Ship Club 40

The Kenosha Navy Club Ship 40 scholarship application is open to current SJCA freshman and sophomores who registered to attend SJCA for the 2024-2025 school year.

Marilyn Pignotti Scholarship

The Marilyn Pignotti Scholarship is to be awarded to a student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills in academics, church and/or community. This scholarship is for 8th grade graduating students who will be registered to attend SJCA for their freshman year. The Pignotti Scholarship will award up to two (2) $500 scholarships. The money will be applied towards the winner’s tuition at St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

Frank A. Matrise Jr. Memorial Scholarship

The Frank Matrise, Jr. Memorial Scholarship was created to honor St. Joseph Alumni, Parent and Coach Frank A. Matrise, Jr. ‘s years of dedication and support of SJCA. This scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded annually to one male and one female who are returning to St. Joseph Catholic Academy for their sophomore, junior or senior year.

For Pete's Sake Scholarship

The For Pete’s Sake/Peter Francois Scholarship is a $2,000 renewable scholarship awarded to students who are entering the 9th grade at SJCA. The student will be from a Catholic parish that has demonstrated a commitment to his/her school, church and/or community.

Jacoby Rutkowski Memorial Scholarship

The Jacoby Rutkowski Memorial Scholarship is endowed annually by his family to provide financial aid to K-8th Grade SJCA students. The family of Jacoby (Jake) Richard Rutkowski recognizes the value of a Catholic education and wishes to extend a minimum of one annual scholarship for deserving students to attend St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

Roders Memorial Scholarship

The Robert and Anne Roders Memorial Scholarship recognizes a current SJCA high school student who has displayed outstanding talent in band, orchestra or musicianship and/or science. This scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded annually to a deserving student who is returning to St. Joseph Catholic Academy for his/her senior year. The money will be applied directly toward the recipient’s SJCA high school tuition.

Jane Rafferty Thiele Scholarship

The Jane Rafferty Thiele Scholarship is given to students in grades 9-12 who will be or are attending SJCA. The scholarship will award two $4000 scholarships per year. The money will be applied to the student’s tuition at SJCA.

The Darrell Viola Scholarship

The Darrell Viola Memorial Scholarship was created to honor St. Joseph High School 1968 alumnus Darrell Viola’s athletic legacy, huge heart and outstanding character.

Friends of the Performing Arts

Students entering 9-12th grades during the 2024-2025 school year, and who are enthusiastic about the performing arts (acting, band, music, etc.), are invited to audition for a FOPA scholarship. Two $1,000.00 performing arts scholarships will be awarded.

Jack Baldwin Memorial Scholarship

The Jack Baldwin Memorial Scholarship was created to honor Jack’s years at St. Joseph High School. This scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded annually to a deserving male student who is returning to St. Joseph Catholic Academy for his junior year. The money will be applied towards the winner’s high school tuition at St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

St. Joseph Alumni Association Scholarship

The St Joseph Alumni Association Scholarships are given to students in grades 9-12 who will be or are attending SJCA. The Alumni Association will fund two $1000 scholarships. One of the scholarships will be awarded to a relative of a St. Joseph Alumnus. The money will be applied to the student’s tuition at SJCA

Ellen Rose Santarelli Memorial Scholarship

The Ellen Rose Santarelli Memorial Scholarship was created to honor Ellen’s years of dedication as a teacher and coach at St. Joseph High School. This scholarship of $2,400 will be awarded annually to a deserving female student who is returning to St. Joseph Catholic Academy for her junior year. The money will be applied towards the winner’s high school tuition at St. Joseph Catholic Academy.
