Welcome to the sweetest time of the year—Homecoming at St. Joseph Catholic Academy! This year's theme is "Sweet As Candy," and we can't wait for all the fun and festivities planned for students, alumni, and our Lancer community. Prepare for a week full of spirit, creativity, and tradition, culminating in an unforgettable parade, soccer and football games, and the long-awaited Homecoming dance!
Homecoming Week: September 23 - 28, 2024
Class Themes:
This year, each class is getting into the candy spirit with their own themed days:
Freshmen: Sour Candy – "First, they're sour, then they're sweet."
Sophomores: Gummy Candy – Celebrating our favorite gummies (bears, worms, fruit snacks)!
Juniors: Mint Candy – Think mint swirls, mountains, and candy canes.
Seniors: Cotton Candy – Colorful, fluffy, and fun!
High School Homecoming Dress-Up and Activities:
Monday: M&M (Match & Mingle)
Dress as a Dynamic Duo or Famous Group! (Examples: Batman & Robin, The Scooby-Doo Gang, etc.)
Tuesday: Now and Later - Girls Powderpuff
Come dressed as either your younger self or who you imagine your future self will be!
Wednesday: Big Leagues - Homecoming Mass
Show your sports spirit with your favorite sports shirt and uniform bottoms.
Thursday: Class Theme Day - Boys Volleyball
Freshmen: Sour Candy
Sophomores: Gummy Candy
Juniors: Mint Candy
Seniors: Cotton Candy
Friday: Skittles - Pep Assembly and Court Crowning

Middle School Homecoming Dress-Up and Activities:
Middle school students will have their own set of dress-up days and events to celebrate Homecoming week. Here's the schedule:
Monday: Spirit Wear with Uniform Bottoms
Tuesday: Regular Uniform - Pep Rally with Junior Poms and Class Competitions
Wednesday: Favorite Sports Team Shirt with Athletic Bottoms - Homecoming Mass, Picnic and Field Day!
Thursday: Regular Uniform - Boys Volleyball Game
Friday: Class Color Shirt - Practice Field Team Relays
6th Grade: Teal
7th Grade: Orange
8th Grade: Purple
Lower Campus and Activities:
Thursday: Spiritwear and any bottoms both days.

School Store Hours & Spiritwear at the Game:
Don't miss your chance to freshen up that Lancer spirit wear for Homecoming week! The school store will be open on the following days leading up to the Friday festivities:
Monday: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Wednesday: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Friday: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
During the games on Friday, at Ameche, a selection of inventory from the school store will be availalbe. Sizing will be limited. Lancer fans will also have the option to order a wide selection of styles for future delivery. Cash, credit, and check will be accepted.
Friday, September 27th: Parade, Carnival & Lancer Lights
Parade:
We’ll kick off the Homecoming weekend with an exciting early dismissal at 2:00 pm! The parade will leave the Upper Campus at 3:00 pm, heading down 22nd Avenue to Lincoln Road, to 26th Avenue on to Ameche. Expect candy, school spirit, and plenty of floats designed by our High School Lancers!
Under the Lancer Lights: Soccer & Football Games
Immediately after the parade, join us under the Friday Night Lancer Lights:
4:00 pm – Varsity Soccer vs. Milwaukee Auburn
7:00 pm – Varsity Football vs. Living Word Lutheran
Alumni Night & Tailgate:
All alumni are invited to join the Alumni Tailgate starting at 4:00 pm at Ameche Stadium and continuing through the end of the football game!
Free food provided by the Athletic Association!
Don’t forget to wear your blue and gold to show your Lancer pride.
Carnival:
Between games, families and attendees of all ages can enjoy the free carnival with plenty of fun activities:
Dunk tank
Face painting
Temporary tattoos
Football throwing and field goal contests
And more exciting games for everyone!
Concessions:
"Big Blue" will be stocked with classic favorites, including homemade Italian meatball bombers brought to our Lancer community by the Infusino family!
Saturday, September 28: Homecoming Dance
The highlight of the week! Don’t miss the Homecoming dance, which will take place on Saturday, September 28th, from 7:30-10:00 pm in the SJCA School Cafeteria.
Tickets will be sold from Monday, September 23rd, through Friday, September 27th during lunch.
Students wishing to bring a guest from another school must complete the guest form available in the office, signed by their guest's principal and Mrs. Cerny or Mrs. Bartholomew. The form must be presented at the time of ticket purchase.
Homecoming Court Announcements
Get excited! The Homecoming Court will be announced after Mass on Wednesday, September 18th.
The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at the Pep Rally on Friday, September 27th.
